
Doula Cathay is a 2025 INELDA (International End-of-Life Doula Association) graduate, Reiki Master, writer, and public speaker, and also volunteers for Southwest Florida's Tidewell/Empath (non-profit hospice organization) to provide doula services (as listed above) and respite care.
Cathay holds a Master's in Library and Information Science (Drexel University, Philadelphia) and retired from Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources in 2025. She is a published writer and member of the Sarasota Fiction Writers group. Cathay holds quarterly Death Cafes and is a public speaker. Cathay is a Master Reiki level practitioner and applies this to her hospice and doula work, and for clients in the community.
Her most recent workshop, "Death Doulas Demystified," was held at the Jacaranda and Shannon Staub Libraries in Sarasota County (2025 and 2026).
